On Monday, Oct. 17, a woman purposefully struck three teens with her vehicle in an attempt to flee police at Hollybush Garden Apartments, located less than a half mile away from the nearest Rowan University facility.

The Glassboro Police Department initially arrived at the apartment complex at 4:28 p.m. in response to a large fight within the area. Twenty-year-old Mikayla Rodriguez-Green, of Pilesgrove, was involved in this altercation with others and when police arrived Rodriguez-Green entered her car and attempted to flee the scene.

According to police, it was at this time that Rodriguez-Green, who is not a Rowan Student, intentionally drove toward a crowd of juveniles and drove over a curb to intentionally hit three teens with her vehicle.

The young girls Rodriguez-Green hit, ages 13, 15, and 16, sustained no life-threatening injuries, police said. None of these individuals were involved in the initial fight.

Rodriguez-Green once again attempted to flee in her vehicle but was promptly stopped by officers and, according to police, was placed under arrest without incident.

Rodriguez-Green was charged with three counts of attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon—her car—and various motor vehicle violations.

At this time, Rodriguez-Green is currently being held at Salem County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.
