New television premieres to be promising
Spring is here, which means lots of our favorite TV series are back. With shows like “American Idol” in its ninth season, now is the perfect time to check out the brand new shows that are vying for your attention. One thing’s for sure – the 2010 spring lineup sounds promising. Who knows? Maybe one of these could be your new favorite.
Human Target – Fox’s new action series follows Christopher Chance (Mark Valley) as a handsome personal bodyguard and security expert who simultaneously protects his clients and has his way with the ladies. In order to protect his clients, Chance becomes the human target and assumes the identities of the people he is protecting. Based off of the comic book character of the same name, “Human Target” is packed with action, explosions and crime fighting. Sounds like the guys will love it. You can watch “Human Target” Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
Life Unexpected – “Life Unexpected” is a drama that follows Lux (Brittany Robertson), a teenager who is finally reconnecting with her parents, played by “Roswell’s” Shiri Appleby and “Mad Men’s” Kristoffer Polaha, after being abandoned by them at birth and spending 15 years in and out of foster care. Lux’s parents are no longer together, but agree to assume responsibility for her when she is not granted emancipation. The show is reminiscent of “Gilmore Girls,” and feels charmingly different than the other shows CW has to offer, like “90210″ and “Gossip Girl.” It’s sure to capture the heart of anyone with a soft spot for family programming. Catch “Life Unexpected” on Mondays at 9 p.m. on the CW.
The Deep End – ABC’s “The Deep End” is a legal drama which follows the lives of four young lawyers as they enter a prestigious Los Angeles law firm and compete to survive. The new recruits are Addy, a strong lawyer and sweet mid-westerner, Liam, an Australian on the hunt for women, Beth, a brilliant babe and Dylan, the good guy. But don’t despair, as you won’t be bored with legal woes. The show is spunky with a comedic edge and is being compared to “Grey’s Anatomy.” It stars Billy Zane as the boss Cliff Huddle, also known as “The Prince of Darkness,” and when his legendary legal partner Hart Sterling returns after a hiatus, he’s ready to shake things up a bit. You can watch “The Deep End” Thursdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
Past Life – Fox’s “Past Life” is a spooky drama about reincarnation and based off of the book “The Reincarnationist” by M. J. Rose. The series follows an unlikely pair of detectives trying to figure out if what is happening to you today is the result of what happened to you in a past life. The show is bound to be a thrill ride and may even have you peeking out from between fingers here and there. “Past Life” premieres Thursday, Feb. 11 at 8 p.m on Fox.
