Anticipated final season aims to answer all questions
“Lost” is coming back for its final season on Feb. 2, and what a final season it is shaping up to be. Since the season five finale, titled “The Incident,” the creators of “Lost” (J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof), haven’t revealed too much video footage or promos pertaining to the sixth and final season of their hit show.
The producers of “Lost” revealed a teaser trailer for the show’s final season that was accompanied with a teaser poster a few months back. Unfortunately, no footage from the new season was present in the trailer. Even though there has been no new footage revealed of the final season, it only adds to the excitement and anticipation of one of the most popular shows in the country. The teaser trailer acts as a nice appetizer for the season six premiere. The hype for the premiere has been so overwhelming that most fans pop in their DVD box sets of the first five seasons just to get their fix until Feb.
The show ended its fifth season with Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) setting off a nuclear bomb that supposedly will prevent Flight 815 from ever crashing on the island.
The final season intends to bring back some familiar faces from previous seasons, including Charlie Pace, the kind-hearted, drug addicted rock star, who died in season three. Also returning is Claire, a very popular character on the show’s previous seasons who vanished mysteriously back in season four.
Of course, what will “Lost” be without its always shifting love triangle between Jack Shephard, Kate Austen and the witty James “Sawyer” Ford. This love triangle will finally come to an end in the final season, according to J.J. Abrams. This leaves “Lost” fans anxious to see who Kate will choose (that is, if she chooses either of the two). More questions that have been lingering since the first season that fans hope will be answered include the “black smoke” that has been constantly appearing on the show, and why it seems that the Flight 815 passengers were connected in some way even before the crash.
The highly anticipated final season of “Lost” will bring back old faces, reveal new ones, and according to J.J. Abrams, kill off a season regular in a heroic fashion. To get all your questions and theories that you might have developed over the first five seasons answered, tune in to ABC on Feb. 2 at 9 p.m. for the final episodes of this Emmy Award-winning phenomenon.
