Small grill fire evacuates student center

A small grill fire in The Marketplace cafeteria caused an evacuation of the student center at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Glassboro Police Department responded with one engine, and several volunteer on-call firefighters showed up at the scene.

The fire began at Grill Central, but The Whit could not confirm how the fire started at this time.

The building was evacuated for approximately 15 minutes, and no one was injured. According to Glassboro Volunteer Fire Chief Kristian Van Dexter, the case has been turned over to Rowan University Public Safety.
